Virbac TENOTRYL (enrofloxacin) is an antimicrobial solution indicated for the treatment and control of bacterial infections in beef cattle, non-lactating dairy cattle, and swine.

Virbac TENOTRYL (enrofloxacin) is an antimicrobial solution indicated for the treatment and control of bacterial infections in beef cattle, non-lactating dairy cattle, and swine.

INDICATIONS

    • Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD) Treatment: It treats BRD (shipping fever, pneumonia) associated with Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Histophilus somni, and Mycoplasma bovis. It can be administered as a single-dose therapy or a multiple-day therapy.
    • BRD Control: It controls BRD in cattle determined to be at high risk of developing the disease due to shipping stress, severe weather changes, or mixing of animal groups.

Swine Indications
Tenotryl is approved for IM or SQ (behind the ear) injection in pigs for:
  • Swine Respiratory Disease (SRD) Treatment and Control: Specifically targets infections associated with A. pleuropneumoniae, P. multocida, H. parasuis, S. suis, B. bronchiseptica, and M. hyopneumoniae.
  • Colibacillosis Control: Manages E. coli diarrhea in groups of weaned pigs, acting as a second-line treatment to promote responsible antimicrobial use.

ADMINISTRATION

Administered exclusively to cattle (subcutaneously) and swine (intramuscularly or subcutaneously).

1. In Cattle (Subcutaneous Injection Only)
Tenotryl is approved for the treatment and control of Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD).
    • Single-Dose Therapy: Administered subcutaneously, generally based on body weight.
    • Multiple-Day Therapy: Administered daily for a set number of days, with potential for extended treatment based on clinical assessment.
    • Site Limit: Guidelines recommend not exceeding a specific volume per injection site to minimize tissue damage.
    • Restrictions: It must be administered behind the ear in beef and non-lactating dairy cattle. It is not approved for female dairy cattle 20 months or older or in veal calves.

2. In Swine (Intramuscular or Subcutaneous)
Tenotryl is used for the treatment and control of Swine Respiratory Disease (SRD) and the control of colibacillosis.
  • Dosing: Administered as a single dose based on body weight.
  • Site Limit: Guidelines recommend not exceeding a specific volume per injection site to minimize tissue damage.
  • Location: Intramuscular or subcutaneous (behind the ear) injection
