Virbac ALBOMAR (albendazole) is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic medication used to treat and control internal parasitic infections in livestock and companion animals.

INDICATIONS

• Gastrointestinal Roundworms: Effective against adult and sometimes larval stages of worms like Haemonchus, Ostertagia, Trichostrongylus, and hookworms.
• Tapeworms: Targets various species (e.g., Moniezia) across multiple host animals.
• Flukes: Controls liver flukes (such as adult Fasciola hepatica) in livestock.
• Lungworms: Treats respiratory worms like Dictyocaulus in livestock.

ADMINISTRATION

• Pregnancy Warning: Albendazole has known teratogenic effects. Do not administer to female cattle during the first 45 days of pregnancy, or to ewes/goats during the first 30 days of pregnancy.
• Withdrawal Periods: For livestock intended for human consumption, strict withdrawal windows must be observed for both meat and milk before slaughter or commercial milking.
• Small Animal Caution: Use with caution in dogs and cats, as prolonged or high doses can cause bone marrow suppression or liver toxicity.
