Virbac INFLACAM oral suspension 1.5 mg/mL (meloxicam) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug prescribed to manage pain, swelling, and inflammation in dogs.
INDICATIONS
- Osteoarthritis Management: Relieving the clinical signs of both acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders.
- Post-Operative Pain and Inflammation: Reducing pain following soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.
ADMINISTRATION
Administered orally, either directly into the mouth or mixed with a small amount of food. Requires a two-step dosing schedule and precise measurement based on the dog’s exact weight.
- Day 1 (Initiation): A higher, initial dose of meloxicam per kg of body weight is administered.
- Day 2 and beyond (Maintenance): A lower, maintenance dose of meloxicam per kg of body weight is administered once daily, exactly every 24 hours.
- Option A (Preferred): Mix with Food. Squirt the measured liquid onto a small portion of wet food, a piece of bread, or a high-value treat. Ensure your dog eats the entire portion to receive the full amount.
- Option B: Direct Oral Delivery. Gently insert the tip of the syringe into the side of the dog’s mouth behind the canine teeth and slowly depress the plunger
