Virbac ITRAFUNGOL (itraconazole) is a systemic antifungal medication indicated for infections in cats caused by Microsporum canis.

INDICATIONS

Feline Dermatophytosis (Ringworm): Indicated for infections caused by Microsporum canis. This fungal pathogen causes skin lesions characterized by circular patches of hair loss, scaling, crusting, and broken hairs, which typically appear on a cat’s head, ears, tail, and front paws.

ADMINISTRATION

Virbac Itrafungol (itraconazole oral solution) is administered to cats orally using the included graduated dosing syringe. The standard dosage is 5 mg/kg (0.5 mL/kg) of body weight, given once daily on alternating weeks for 3 total treatment cycles (cats are treated for 7 days, left untreated for 7 days, treated for 7 days, left untreated for 7 days, and treated for 7 days).
