Virbac INFLACAM oral granules (meloxicam) are indicated for the alleviation of inflammation and the relief of pain in both acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders in horses.
INDICATIONS
- Acute Musculoskeletal Disorders: Short-term, sudden onset conditions such as acute synovitis, sprains, strains, lameness, and sudden orthopedic trauma.
- Chronic Musculoskeletal Disorders: Long-term, ongoing mobility issues such as osteoarthritis, degenerative joint disease, and chronic stiffness.
ADMINISTRATION
Administered by mixing the granules with a small portion of feed.
- Dosage: The standard dose is 0.6 mg/kg of body weight.
- Frequency: Given once daily for up to 14 days.
- Sachet Sizing: Each sachet usually contains one full dose designed for an average horse weighing between 500 kg and 600 kg. The dose should not be split or divided into smaller amounts.
Important Safety Considerations
- Feeding Time: Mix the granules with the food immediately prior to feeding.
- Drug Interactions: Do not administer this medication at the same time as other Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs), glucocorticosteroids, or anticoagulants.
- Pregnancy: Consult your veterinarian prior to use, as the product is generally not recommended for pregnant or lactating mares.
