Virbac DELTANIL (deltamethrin) is a topical ectoparasiticide used for the treatment and prevention of external parasite infestations in cattle and sheep.
INDICATIONS
- Lice & Flies: Treats/prevents biting/sucking lice and various fly species (Haematobia, Stomoxys, Musca, Hydrotaea).
- Parasite Control: Targets Ixodes ricinus (ticks), Melophagus ovinus (keds), biting lice, and Lucilia spp. (blowfly strike)
ADMINISTRATION
Designed for external, topical administration along the animal’s spine. Applied directly to the skin using a dosing cup or an appropriate applicator gun.
Key Administration Steps
- Calculate the Dose:
- Cattle: 10 ml per animal, regardless of weight.
- Sheep: 5 ml per animal, regardless of weight.
- Lambs: 2.5 ml per lamb (under 10 kg bodyweight or 1 month of age).
- Apply to the Back: Using a calibrated applicator, pour or squeeze the solution along the mid-line of the back at the level of the shoulders.
- Equipment: Smaller bottles (0.5L or 1L) come with a dosing cup, while larger sizes (2.5L and 4.5L pouches) should be used with an appropriate dosing applicator gun
