Virbac HITEK tablets / bolus (ivermectin) are a broad-spectrum anthelmintic medication used to treat and control internal and external parasitic infections in ruminants like cattle and buffalo.
INDICATIONS
- Gastrointestinal Roundworms: Treats and controls a wide variety of adult and larval gastrointestinal nematodes (gut worms).
- Lungworms: Eliminates lungworm infections (e.g., Dictyocaulus viviparus in cattle) to improve respiratory function.
- External Parasites: Helps manage infestations of mites (mange), lice (sucking and biting), and cattle grubs.
- Tissue Parasites: Controls eyeworms as well as skin and muscle worms.
ADMINISTRATION
HITEK Ivermectin Tablets / Bolus are administered orally, following these guidelines:
- Method: The bolus is placed in the animal’s mouth and swallowed whole. Using a balling gun (an oral administering tool for livestock) is a common and safe way to ensure the tablet goes down properly.
- Dosage: The standard dosage is 200 mcg of ivermectin per kg of body weight. A single bolus usually treats an animal weighing up to 400 kg.
- Target Species: It is primarily used to treat and control internal and external parasites in cattle, buffalo, and other large ruminants.
