Virbac INFLACAM Equine oral suspension (meloxicam) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug indicated for pain and inflammation associated with acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders in horses.
INDICATIONS
- Acute Musculoskeletal Disorders: Helps manage short-term inflammation, joint swelling, and pain resulting from traumatic injuries or sudden flare-ups.
- Chronic Musculoskeletal Disorders: Provides long-term pain relief and improved mobility for degenerative conditions like osteoarthritis.
- Pain Associated with Colic: In many regions, the meloxicam formulation is also utilized as a supportive medication for the relief of pain linked to equine colic.
ADMINISTRATION
Administered orally directly into the mouth or mixed with a small amount of food.
- Measuring the dose: Shake the bottle well before use. Use the specific measuring syringe provided in the package, which usually features a scale corresponding to the horse’s body weight.
- Direct oral administration: Insert the syringe into the gap between the horse’s front teeth and cheek teeth, then gently depress the plunger to empty the liquid.
- Mixing with feed: To minimize the risk of intolerance, you can mix the dose into a small amount of concentrate or cereal feed (about 250g) before your horse is fed their regular meal.
