Virbac MEGLUDYNE (flunixin) is a fast-acting anti-inflammatory drug indicated for its analgesic, and antipyretic effects in a wide range of veterinary species, including cattle, horses, pigs, sheep, goats, camels, and dogs.
INDICATIONS
- Horses: Alleviates inflammation and pain associated with musculoskeletal disorders, and controls visceral pain associated with equine colic.
- Cattle: Controls fever (pyrexia) and inflammation associated with bovine respiratory disease (BRD/pneumonia), acute bovine mastitis, and endotoxemia. Also used to control pain/inflammation from dehorning or castration.
- Pigs: Treatment support for respiratory tract diseases, mastitis-metritis-agalactia (MMA) syndrome, and endotoxemia.
- Dogs: Manages post-operative pain, fever, and inflammation related to musculoskeletal disorders.
- Other Livestock (Sheep, Goats, Camels): Helps manage inflammation and pain tied to infectious diseases, respiratory distress, and endotoxemia.
ADMINISTRATION
Administered as an intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM) injection.
- Horses: Administered exclusively via slow intravenous (IV) injection for musculoskeletal disorders and equine colic.
- Cattle, Camels, Sheep, and Goats: Administered via slow IV or deep intramuscular (IM) injection.
- Dogs: Administered via slow IV or IM injection.
- Pigs: Administered via subcutaneous (SC) or slow IV injection.
