Virbac HITEK PLATINUM is a high-potency, long-acting veterinary injection containing 3.15% w/v Ivermectin. Indicated for extended, long-term parasite protection from a single dose.
INDICATIONS
Internal Parasites (Endoparasites)
Treats and provides prolonged protection against various tissue and luminal roundworms:
- Gastrointestinal Roundworms: Eradicates adult and fourth-stage larval nematodes in the stomach and intestines (such as Ostertagia, Haemonchus, Trichostrongylus, Cooperia, and Oesophagostomum).
- Lungworms (Pulmonary Nematodes): Treats respiratory worm burdens like Dictyocaulus viviparus which impair breathing and productivity.
- Eye Worms: Controls ocular parasitic infections caused by Thelazia species.
- Skin and Muscle Worms: Eliminates sub-epidermal and deep-tissue worm infestations.
External Parasites (Ectoparasites)
Controls infestations on the skin or within the hide of the animal:
- Mites (Mange): Treats parasitic dermatitis, including sarcoptic and psoroptic mange, helping clear up scabs, hair loss, and intense itching.
- Ticks: Suppresses systemic infestations of blood-sucking livestock ticks.
- Lice: Eradicates both sucking and biting lice populations.
- Cattle Grubs & Warbles: Destroys the migratory and parasitic larval stages of heel flies (Hypoderma bovis and Hypoderma lineatum) before they damage the animal’s hide.
ADMINISTRATION
Administered subcutaneously in front of or behind the shoulder. The standard dosage is 1 ml per 50 kg (110 lbs) of body weight.
- Route: Subcutaneous injection only.
- Site: Inject either in front of or behind the shoulder.
- Restraint: Properly restrain the animal to prevent sudden movements that could cause injury or improper injection depth.
- Equipment: Use sterile, properly disinfected needles and syringes to reduce the risk of injection site infections.
