Virbac AMPROLIUM is indicated for the veterinary treatment and prevention of coccidiosis. It targets intestinal protozoan parasites from the Eimeria species in poultry, turkeys, and other livestock.

INDICATIONS

• Poultry (Chicks, Growers, Layers, Broilers, and Breeders): It treats all types of avian coccidiosis caused by Eimeria species, such as E. tenella, E. necatrix, and E. acervulina. It is safe for use across all life cycles, including laying hens and breeding flocks.
• Turkeys: It treats coccidiosis and acts as an aid against other protozoal issues like Histomoniasis (Blackhead).
• Other Livestock (Calves, Lambs, Sheep, and Goats): While highly associated with poultry, amprolium soluble powders are also indicated therapeutically and prophylactically for gastrointestinal Eimeria infections (such as Eimeria bovis and Eimeria zuernii in calves).

ADMINISTRATION

• Administration: The powder is dissolved directly into fresh drinking water.
• Water Management: Medicated water should be the single, exclusive drinking source for the animals during the treatment window.
• Duration: Typically given at a higher curative dose for 3 to 5 days during an active outbreak, followed by a lower preventive dose for 1 to 2 weeks.
